Heritage
"I have been using shea butter as a body moisturiser since I was young, after being introduced to it by my Ivorian dad.
Given that it comes from the nuts of karité trees that grow across many African countries including Ivory Coast, this is something he and generations of my family were very familiar with and have been including in their daily routines.
I have always had dry skin and was often left disappointed by other drugstore remedies, but once I started using shea butter I never felt the need to try anything else as I had finally found something which hydrated my skin sufficiently."
Formulation
"Whilst I was happy with the results, I felt there were a few changes that would make it even better.
Initially, I wanted to make the application process a little easier. Shea butter on it's own can be a slightly tough to scoop and needs to be warmed up between your hands to achieve a creamy consistency, so adding in nourishing base oils and whipping this into a smooth cream was the perfect solution.
Not only does this make it easier to apply, but there's also the added skin benefits from the additional oils."
Final Touch
"One thing I did miss about other body creams I had used was the multiple scents available, so once I started experimenting with the recipe I knew I had to try out different fragrances. I personally love the vanilla one as it's the perfect amount of sweet and settles nicely into my skin, making it my go-to.
It has taken a while, but I have finally created my perfect body moisturiser and am excited to share this with anyone who, like me, wants an easy to use product with amazing benefits that leaves your skin feeling luscious and loved!"
